George Gremse's Experience

Peace Corps Experience

I served in an agricultural program in Colombia that allowed me to immediately apply my Cornell education to real-world situations. The overseas, volunteer, and work experiences gained from my Peace Corps' service opened doors for me and helped me professionally throughout my career. On a personal note I feel, and hope, that my Peace Corps experience made me a better person.

Learning another language, broadening your understanding of others, traveling and exploring in another country, working and living in a different culture, and dealing with unique challenges all contribute positively to your personal development. In exchange you try to make a contribution through efforts that will have immediate impact and hopefully leave some legacy behind when you finish your service.
